Britax Monarch Booster Seat
#17
Carnut, I've just ordered the FP booster so that my 3year old nephew can ride in my P car. An after thought... is the booster seat for a 3 year old legal?

in my c4s cab I'm using the Fisher Price ones, my brother-in-law is a child safety expert (he used to work for Britax) and this is what he recommended. They have backs for smaller children and a piece that will pull the shoulder strap down when you're not using hte back to the correct height for a child's shoulder.
My daughter is six and around 45lbs she fits back there with no problem at all, and my wife (5'10") can sit in front of her with plenty of room for both their legs.

The problem with using a booster for a child that is too young for it is that their muscles and bones may not be strong enough to endure a heavy impact and they may not yet understand the importance of keeping their seatbelt on properly. With a convertible carseat, younger ones get the benefit of a 5 point harness, which helps to secure a child that might otherwise pull their seatbelt off and, more importantly, it helps to spread the impact more evenly and over a greater surface area.

This is the seat that most of our customers use in their European cars. The Recaro material & color options work well with the factory interiors in most of the cars and they are "expandable" for various sizes & ages.

i tried all the seats at baies r us..theres just not enough room in the back of a cab even after i took out the seat bottom..
with the passenger seat all the way up my 1 year olds feet are pressed against the back seat..not safe enough for me - his legs would be crushed if some idiot rear ends me
cabs arent meant for back seat passengers
might swap my car for a sports sedan like m5 or cl merc

robbonds, if you ever find a good seat that fits for your 1 year old please continue the thread. My duaghter is almost 5 months and I'm positioning to get a 997S Cab for the backseat (and power/prestige) next year.

I use the above mentioned fisher price seat in my cab, the ability to remove it's back moves my daughter back far enough that she's got plenty of room, even with my wife sititng in the seat in front of her.
