Default Air bag light

Installing the smartop module resulted in the airbag idiot light staying on. This is a result of overlooking the unhooking of the battery during the install.

I know that I have to go to the dealer to fix this. I tried my portable OBD reader and it does not show a fault. Disconnecting the battery to reset the computers did not help.

What is exactly will the dealer do to reset this light?

I didn't disconnect the battery before installing the smartop, no problem.

Connect the PIWIS tester and clear it.

Never did disconnect the btry to do that installation.

I have had occasion to visit the dealer because of a highly sensitive airbag warning light. They can adjust those,--and should do that at no charge.

Nope, i believe that the Porsche testers are the only way, We dont charge to turn off a light normally.

Durametric will clear airbag faults.

I didn't disconnect the battery when installing the Smartop, and had no issues. May be you actually have a problem with an airbag that needs to be addressed?

I don't think so, the light came on with the install. I hear these are very finnicky lights.

Same here (installed without disconnecting battery). Do we have to "hide" the smarttop from dealers (by disabling), if we want to avoid voiding the warranty?

I disabled mine before taking it in for a 1 year service. I figure, why take a chance.

bit the bullet, dealer cleared light. Smart top set to invisible, no one noticed anything awry. Apparently the airbag lights are sensitive.
