Default Recent prices paid or quoted for new '07 997s

I realize the '08 models have not been on dealer lots for very long, but I would like to hear from recent shoppers or buyers of new '07 997 cars, especially S coupes, about the discount you were able to get or you have been quoted as a percentage off of MSRP, considering that they are now a model year old. I just had a salesman who sold a Boxster to my father last year tell me he thinks he can do 10k off of a heavily optioned C2S, but he wants me to come see the car and "get serious" before he has the manager committ. Thanks in advance for any replies.

In early August I was able to get 8.5% off a Targa 4 that was built in Feb 07, so it was probably on the lot since April or May.

Note that there is a difference between a "quote" and a final deal.

I bought a 2007 997 C2 a few weeks ago. The car was lightly optioned at $78,490. Final price was about 11% off list.

I think 10-13% is the top of the range you can expect.

To put things in perspective, I ordered my C2 last November and it arrived in Feb 07. I got a 7.1% discount off of MSRP (negotiated as 6.25% over invoice)...

Got an offer of about 13% off on a 07 C4S. 88K for 101K list.

Personally, I am waiting until October to see what happens. With the Fed Rate drop and one more month on the age of the cars (of which there seem to be plently of 07's), I think we will see some further deals especially for leasors.

That seems very good as well.
Custom orders are much more difficult to get higher discounts.

To further qualify - the 10-13% top of range est. I provided was for a car in stock and likely at a slower time of year. I got 12% off on a new 2006 purchased in Feb.2007.

# of options, dealer, market, & motivation drive what you can get.

I think 10 to 12 is pretty good.
