Default Cab owners with V1 windshield mounts

Does your V1 shake like crazy up there at highway speeds? I'm wondering if I'm too close to the rearview mirror or something because mine just vibrates so much you'd swear it's about to fly loose (but never does).

thanks
Aaron

I dont have a cab, but my V1 is mounted to the left of the overhead console with both the windshield and the roofliner touching it, preventing it from moving around much.

Mine's mounted on the windshield just below the rear view mirror; no shakes here.

You need to make sure that the placement is such that you can avoid it, even when taking significant bumps, from shaking and then hitting some fixed object like the mirror or visor, etc. I found a good compromise position (pictured here). It is essentially out of sight, out of mind. I also have all the controls and displays to it remoted down below the a/c controls.
Search for "Another V1 Installation" for how I installed mine.

Nice setup, I usually put the V1 to the right of the mirror and the add on display at the base of the A pillar for the easy glance, but that looks very nice and neat in the console.

Actually, doesn't. RF passed through the visors without a problem. I have yet to have a problem with aft attacking laser.

Edgy, i had my V1 mounted/hardwired in the same spot after seeing your pictures. Mine is slightly higher on the window. I opted for no secondary display since i wanted to keep that cubbyhole for my cell phone.

Aaron, I have my V-1 mounted on the mirror of my 2006 Cab. It's rock solid & works great. I purchased the "mini-mount" from:" http://www.countryjoycrafts.com/350Z/valentinemount.htm ". The owners name is Joy #(805)522-9808. You have to make a small bushing out of scrap plastic/rubber tubing in order for the mount to fit tightly. The tubing can be purchased @ Home Depot for a couple of cents. I sent her pictures of the bushing & the mount after installation. John
