Default Help with Spare Tire!

The car not me....

So the 997 doesnt have a spare.
Has anyone fitted the space saver from the 996 C4's?
Does it work with 19" wheels.
Im kind of paranoid about getting a flat now. My wife thinks all my cars are nail magnets as ive picked up nails in every one.
I even had a blow out at 70mph on the 996.

does the fix a flat work ?
Thanks

You can imagine that this topic has received a lot of discussion. The best defense on this issue is TPMS,--became available at additional expense on the MY06 cars. I swear by it as it is my first clue of a nail in the tread. If it shows you down a couple of PSI for no reason like higher temps on one side or another,--it will be a nail.

Armed with that information you can attempt to remove the tire (need a jack and wrench) and PLUG the tire until you can get it properly dealt with.

This is the method that I use. There is simply no place to put one of these tires IN the car if you have a flat. With a blowout (rare) you are really SOL.

I carry one of the collapsible spares for the 996 turbo. I used it with a rear flat, and the rear wheel/tire will fit in the car, behind the passenger seat (with it full forward). Of course, your passenger may be bit uncomfortable, oh well.
