Default Yet Another Porsche Sport Exhaust Thread

And yes, I did try to search, but I am having a hard time finding the answers.

I love the PSE on my 996. In fact, it gets better every day. Mine has the full factory wiring so that I can make it quite by hitting a switch on the dash (default is loud). Even in default loud, though, they came from the factory with a quite spot (I think 15-35 mph or something like that) that was intended to comply with some Swiss noise law (or so I have been told). I disabled that cutout, so default it is loud throughout the speed range, and I can make it quiet by hitting the switch.

Now, on a 997 S WITH the wart on the dash, how does the sport exhaust work?

Is it quiet by default until you turn on Sport mode?

Even when it is "on" (aka loud and proud), is there a sound cutout for various RPM ranges?

If you pull the wire, or plug the vacuum hose, does that override your ability to make it quiet?

If there is a sound cutout for a certain mph range, is there an override for this?

Thanks.

The PSE is quiet and only turns on with the Sport Chrono switch.
It cuts out below ~ 50mph when you use the throttle agressively.
You can have it on loud all the time by disconnecting the plug .

I installed a separate switch in the 12 V power line to the solenoid valve to override the factory sound cut-off . In one position it works per factory setting, in the other the PSE valves never close and it's always loud .
