DE event doesn't surprise me, never measured mine, but....

Hmmmm my best conservative hwy drive was about 23mpg! How'd you get 28.3 with an S no less? You musta just reset it as you were coasting downhill in 6th, cheater!

Best 23 mpg?? That's never right. My S easily averages 28 - 29 at 80 - 85 mph on a 100 mile trip to London. Averages 22 - 23 on short journeys / heavy traffic .... and yes I do use the right pedal as designed! Are our gallons different to yours?

26-28 MPG (US gals) on highway @ 65-70 mph is what i've seen consistently.
This is with cruise, not much traffic and minimal hills.

In this case I just did a 5 mile stretch that was fairly flat on my way back from the track.

Yep, 28.5 mpg Saturday at 72mph in 6th, flat ground, over about 10 miles. Hell, it's all flat here in Illinois. :0) Still air, 85 degrees F, humidity about 60%.

A couple of weeks ago, Chicago - Grand Rapids - Detroit - Chicago run: 700+ miles, speeds in the high 80s-low 90s most of the time - consistent 23-24mpg. A lot of that was in 5th, too - kept forgetting to go to 6th gear...

Now, get aggressive and it's 14 or less... generally much less. 9.0 wouldn't suprise me at all for a DE event.

Hey, gas is cheap here in the US. Enjoy it while you can.

I doubt if you're getting as much as 9.0 mpg on track. That's exactly what my car says I'm getting every time I measure. It's also exactly 9.0 on an autocross course every time I measure it. Others that I asked said they get the exact same mpg; 9.0. I've concluded that 9.0 is a low as it will compute, so I don't know what we're actually getting, but it's probably not much less than that.

I get about 9 at DEs, 26 to and from (very hilly CT to Watkins Glen and not at 65-70). Average about 20 tooling around town and short highway jaunts. I'm amazed at how efficient these cars are given their performance potential. Add +10% when they introduce DFI...

Don - did they exact same run (though kept on 94 thru K-Zoo into Detroit) but only got 20.9 on the trip. My 4 mile commute from Lakeview to the Loop generally averages 9.8 My concern is the overall mileage of 15.8....yikes.

I DE At Sebring and get 8mpg in a 30min session. I get at 80mph around 21mpg on the highway.

So much for my conclusion that it won't compute below 9.0 mpg.

Hi,
This weekend I had it down to 6.8 mpg. I went thru a tank and a half on
friday and a tank and a half on saturday. Sunday was the time trial
event and I only went thru a tank and a quarter. I had a blast at
Thunderhill in California.

After exactly 1700 miles on the clock, my average is 15.6mpg.

This is a combination of streets and highway (80% streets). I admit I have a heavy foot, but WTF??

How the heck do you average over 20mpg? I've even reset it while crusing highways at ~75mph and maybe average around 17 or 18mpg. What am I doing wrong?

This sounds a bit too low.
What brand gas are you using?
checked air pressure on your tires?. Most people run 33-34 fronts 39-40 rears on 19" wheels.

My bleded average without DE is about 20 -- this is city/highway split with a moderate to heavy foot.
I use Chevron
