Remember that I got a new center unit to the tune of about $4,000 to solve the slow clock problem. They could have bought me a Rolex and saved $$$. Well the fix did not work! It is a software problem and Porsche is working on it. So if you have the same problem, put it on your work order each time you take the car in and someday it may be resolved.

They should just add the NAV unit to your PCM, it would be cheaper. If I remember correctly, NAV equipped PCM's keep the correct time.

The clock on my 997 was chronically slow as well, to the tune of 3-4 minutes a week. I never pressed the issue for a fix since my dealer's hands were full with other issues with my former 997.

I have the same problem but didn't want to take it in to have the dash replaced and wind up with alll sorts of rattles. Remarkably there are other ways to tell the time like looking at my wristwatch or cell phone.

Anyway I always thought that the slow clock in the p-car was a special relativistic effect (time dilation) because the car is so fast. Now you tell me that it's a software problem?

That could be true. My 07 C2S with Nav does not have the slow clock problem. Or maybe they corrected the problem by the time the 07s were produced.

My clock was slow to the tune of 2-3 minutes per week. Installed the Nav unit and it doesn't miss a beat.

My 07 C2 clock ( no NAV) doesn't lose time, at least not yet.

Is it possible that the cars with NAV get a time signal from the GPSystem and their clocks self-adjust???

I think I read in the manual that the Nav units download the time using GPS...GR

Same here, my manual says "yes", they do. 997 Technik concurs.

My '06 C2 (geez, its been a year already?!) had a slow clock problem--lost a few minutes a week. I had seen on this forum where someone thought it could be a simple software fix. Brought it into the local P-dealer. They did indeed replace the entire PCM unit. Can't remember the cost to Porsche, but it was in the thousands. To fix a slow clock!!! It has run accurately ever since.

My '06's clock runs slow also.... and to think my daughters '93 Camery clock is spot on

It must have been an issue that was fixed somewhere along the line. My '07 clock (no nav) is right on.

OK. The problem you guys are having is solved by our friend Prof. Einstein and his Theory of Realativity!!

As you approach the speed of light, time changes in a realative manner!!!!

Slow down and your clocks will be correct!!!

I have the same issue with my 2005 CS2. Someone had noted on this thread that the dealer replaced their entire PCM. Has anyone else had their PCM replaced?
Since I have the original style (no SIM card - no MP3 capability) it might be a good way to get a new unit on Porsche's dime. Any thoughts?
