This interior just cried out for a touch or two of makassar wood. Door finishers or makassar package. Anywhere to break up the bright red.

Do you get sunglasses with this interior color selection?

Dash top needs to be black and add in some black deviated stiching.

looks great !!! it may be too flashy for some or too much red for others , but you have to admit it is great to be able to option your car as flashy or as understated as you want .

This color option is still not up on the Porsche config section.

Porsche should let you decide which interior element should be in which color so you're not faced with an all or nothing decision (not just deviated carpet). Ferrari let's you do that and the additional cost for this level of customization is surprisingly low.

I think it would take Porsche's "exclusive" dept. at least 10K and an additional 9 months for delivery to be so accommodating.

The U.S. configurator is showing the new colors. I built a white Carrera S with red full leather. I want one!

I once had a white car with red interior, it actually looked quite good, but there may be too much red in this interior.

Now that I think about it, at the time I had that car I also had long sideburns, bell bottom pants, 3 inch wide ties and the car was a '62 Chevy

When there's a split black/red interior, then I'll like it. As of now I'll stick to my original inclination, and say, that this is going to make the car impossible to sell in twenty years.

In twenty years the car will sell for a premium. It will be considered a classic, rare Porsche. The red leather,if cared for properly, will age to a beautiful hue....far different than what you see now.

A premium to what? I doubt any 997 will be considered a "classic" in twenty years.

They will desire this car for its unique interior ...and dont forget the leather looks much different in twenty years. What is garrish and loud now will turn to a wonderful warm look not bright at all. This look seen in red leather is only obtainable in a car well broken in....as for being a classic, in my eyes any twenty year old porsche well maintained is classic material.

You have to be kidding me.
Remember that the people buying these cars today will not be buying them in 20 years. Considering my age in 20 years it'll be people even younger than me - and they won't be interested...
