I have the 3M product on my car now, but it seems I still get a lot of rock chips above the clear bra.

I talked to a guy today and he said that he can cover the whole hood or pretty much any amount of the hood.

My question is how high should I go up? Whole hood?

Thanks guys

Yes, it can be done. If you are seeing chips further up, then getting the entire hood is a good idea.

I am just curious.....those who get a clear bra installation....is it for a daily driver, e.eg. commuting on the freeway or are folks doing this for cars that are only used e.g. weekends.

Mine is a daily driver, but I would get it even if it wasn't.

I have 3M up to half of the hood. Problem is I'm getting quite a few rock chips on the windshield (more so than my previous 911s without 3M). Wonder if the rocks are bouncing off the 3M and hit the windshield instead.

Nope, the rock chips aren't from your clearbra -- my Boxster (unfortunately) doesn't have a clearbra and is chipped and pitted to all hell. The glass is just easy to pit and chip.

I'm about ready to replace the glass, respray the front of my car and put a bra on it.

I was in the same situation and I asked this forum for the same advise.

Thanks to the guys here I installed clearbra on my full hood, full front fenders, full bumper, and rear wheel arches. It was done by Premier, and was the best thing I have done to my car. I highly highly recommend it.

Even for weekend car, full clearbra is a good idea. Nowadays the roads are full of debris and rocks, I got my brand new 997S and drove it only 500 miles before I went to Premier for the clearbra installation, and to my surprise my car already had a few tiny rock chips!

With best regards,
- Alex.
