Heavy front end collision in my C2S

Robert,
We're both having a bit of bad luck this year!
How are you feeling? Did you go to the hospital afterward?
Be sure to let us know how much it costs to fix.
Hope you're okay, that looks really nasty.
All the best.

Oh, I forgot to mention. The police officer that picked up the pieces of my car mentioned that they were the lightest post-accident auto parts that he had ever handled. Thought that was interesting.

+1 on the above, sounds like your alignment settings might be good on a rack but under load, something is changing. Hope it all works out for you and good to hear you are ok. Here are some pics of my ordeal, a old lady in an oncoming SUV made a left into me as I was going by her, she apparently didn't see me.
Overall, not bad for a cab, I often wonder if things would have been different in a different car. It did everything it was supposed to do, all three of the air bags went off, roll bars popped, engine shut off, hazards turned on, and for some reason the horn went off (probably related to air bag deployment). Consider yourself lucky that you walked away and thank Porsche for the incredible engineering that goes into these cars, I know I do!

Got it back today, torque steer NOT gone. Sick of this car and all the problems. I'm going to refuse it, and see what insurance company says. If I get stuck with it, I'm going to just get rid of it and quit dealing with all the damned hassle. Four months later and it still drives like hell.

That's terrible news, my guess is the suspension geometry is not right in the front. Did you go to one of the recommended repair shops for your insurance company? They should give you a lifetime warranty on the repairs and this should be corrected. If not, get a lawyer.

Yes, depending on how they handle this, it might be attorney time. I went to a Porsche certified shop, and they are certified with State Farm as well. So basically State Farm never even inspected the damage. The shop manager is authorized to perform the work as he sees fit. Anyone else smell conflict of interest? If the car would have been totaled, his shop would have missed out on over $23,000 in revenue.
Anyway, I'm not going to accept this car as-is. They've had 2 chances to get it fixed, and they could not get it figured out. So I'm calling State Farm on Monday and telling them the story.

So true. I remember visiting a collision shop about a year ago, and the manager was bragging about how they mended a CGT, and the bill to the insurance company was over $100k. I asked him, "How often do you guys total cars?" Guy laughs and says, "We NEVER total cars!" Great news for us, right?
