Whats a great price on a 06 997s with 5k miles? It has a good number of options but the color is not my first choice, a little too "bling bling" for my taste. My car has been keyed twice and it was seal grey. I can't imagine how this color will hold up in a public parking lot...

I also forgot to mention, the car isn't CPO'd. Those are typically for 2 additional years correct?

If you don't like the color - don't bother.
Keep looking...there's plenty out there.

Thanks for the response Tone. The color isnt all that bad, just not my #1 or #2 choice. For the right price, I think I can grow to love the color.. Afterall, it is a Porsche!!

So what do you think a nicely equipped low mileage 06 should go for?

I'm pretty certain your range will be between 70-75K.
70 range or less is a KILLER deal
Up to 75 is if you really like everything about it - as you'd order it.
All assume car is perfect/as new.
For most people color is very important, even if they don't realize it.
So let it be known when you negotiate that you're concerned about the color, this should help get the dealer down to to their walk away price faster.

Best of luck!!

So with all the options and an msrp price of 105k, it really doesnt mean that much in in the used market?

Checking kelly's BB and NADA the 70-74 range sounds about right...

I'll work em on monday. But I get this feeling they will laugh at me all the way to the door if I offered them kbb value.

keep in mind the 08's are at the dock according to the discussion I had with my dealer yesterday so pricing will drop on the preowned mkt. It all depends on how much your dealer has into the car. I looked at a very similar car from a private party in March and he was willing to go 75 ish with 5k on the clock

Let them laugh and then pick up the phone when they call you back in two days asking if you are still interested. Then downplay your interest. I got 7k off the dealer's asking price on a used '06 in October. They swore they couldn't do it and would lose money. They called me and I got it for my initial bid.

the original asking price for the car is 85. They dropped the price to 83. After a brief discussion with the salesman, he said I can have it for 79. So with that said, they did take off 6k from the original asking price. But then again they originally priced it pretty high. NADA and KBB have them going in "excellent" condition for 73ish

I picked up a 2005 launch car (Loaded, PCCBs, full leather, adaptive sport seats, sport chrono, nav, bose, xenon etc.) with 5k miles for $72k. Sticker was $100k. I think it was a killer deal. A $105k car for mid $70s is a sick deal with 5k miles. But I agree with the previous post, if you wait you'll find your #1 or #2 color. Took me about 2.5 months to find the car I ended up buying, but it was exactly what I wanted.

Another way to look at this: you're going to "pay" about 12K PER YEAR depreciation for the first few years. So yeah, get the best deal you can, but don't lose much sleep over 2-4K on sticker if it's the car you want.
