Default New Pics 997S Cabriolet

Here are a few pictures I took this evening of my 2006 997S Cabriolet. I just finished cleaning the car up after last weekends Sebring HPDE day. I've got 8734 miles on it and it has been awesome. I know this car is on the luxury side of a 997S however it will suprise you how fast it is on the track.

Looks great, mdrums.

Yep that is my wife for ya! We wanted to get back into sports cars and another Porsche after being gone for a few years. I wanted to get into doing DE's and auto crossing. I suggested a Carrera S and she said OK but it had to be black and a convertible with power seats, heated seats, leather and so on and so forth. Perfect track car huh?

Looking GREAT!

How do you like the supple leather? I have it on my 996 and really like it. I don't care for the look of the standard perforated leather. My wife's MB has perforated leather (light Ash Gray no less) and those holes collect dirt and leather conditioner, but she doesn't care because I am the one who has to clean them.

The supply leather has been great. I really did not want it becuase I do not think it fits the look of a Porsche in my mind but it had been durable and cleans up easy.

Tim, I've been using Einszett Lederpflege on my leather - it does not clog the perforations if you apply it with a soft towel. I just got a new Volvo S80 V8 AWD for Pam last week - need to do the seats RSN - I'll let you know if the Einszett stuff works as well on the (perforated) Volvo leather.

Try it! I'm not affiliated - just love the smell of the Lederpflege... <g>

Nice shine, 'Drums. Looks beautiful. Triple black is my fave - but I'm really glad that I don't have to clean it...

Don - thanks for the tip on Einszett Lederpflege. My wife's lease is ends in September and we have decided not to purchase it, so that problem disappears shortly.

Beautiful looking car. Have to say the black on black has a presence. By the way I have the supple leather as well and find it more comfortable than the standard seats.

the thing that has suprised me with the supple leather is it is more grippy than the standard leather so with that and the CG Lock on my seat belt it really holds me in place on the track pretty good. Again, personally I do not like the looks of it on a sports car...but...it was impossible to find a triple black 997S cab tiptronic and this is the only one my dealer could locate.

Here is a shot from Sebring last weekend. I was in blue group. I made solo yellow group that weekend.

Do they make an S Cab with Tiptronic? That will be my next one in a few years if I can find one. Hopefully they will have at least another gear by then.
