Well, after reading all of this, I took my key out to the garage and it opens the doors and starts the car.
I don't know if this is true or not, but I've heard several Porsche owners complain about their regular key battery runs down, and only Porsche can replace it. It costs a lot of money to get the battery replaced, but the only thing it changes is, you can't remotely open your doors and hood, or lock them.
I have the plastic key hidden in a magnetic box that is ..."somewhere under/behind and around something else" on my car. So, when you lock yourself out.... you're saved! I do the same as someone who posted above also. I pay the valet, then park the car myself. At some places I can pay the valet twice the fee, and get two parking places together. I park directly in the middle of both spaces so nobody can reach me with a door.

I never thought about that. . But what if your top is up?

Now that is funny right there I don't care who you are.
