Default 997.5

Hi all...

Been a long-time lurker from the 993/993TT board... have thoroughly enjoyed reading all your guys' posts...

Just wandering if anyone had a heads-up on the midlife facelift for the 997? When is it due, and how substantial is it going to be?

Cheers in advance, and sorry if this is a double (or triple) post of the question.

Facelift? Is there a facelift coming??

If you search on facelift, you will see umpteen-million threads. We don't really need another one.

"We", do you have a mouse in your pocket?
Is there some limit on how many times someone can inquire about a certain subject?
Please refresh my memory on when and how you were appointed to determine what is or isn't "really needed".

That, too, has been discussed many times. It usually ends in a huge argument and someone gets banned.

But, hey...

The info for 08's are already released and there is no significant upgrades for 08. No LED tail lights, no direct inject. Just minor yearly updates. I think Porsche is wise to do this, one of the things Porsche built its reputation on was not doing wholesale changes on its models too often.

I wasn't, of course, and neither were you. When you become a paid Rennlist member, you'll have the right to complain. Until then, you don't.

Wow... calm down children, and lay off the yellow colorant!

Gotta say, 991Dave, don't you think your reaction was just a little out of proportion to the 'crime' at hand?

Thanks for making me feel so welcome... and for living up to the Porsche-owner stereotype that most other Rennlist members have been proving false...

911Dave,

Don't you realize despotic sarcasm is inimical to any civilized forum, such as this one? Please be kind and respectful to others.

I saw this spy shot the other day. This is going to be the further slide back to the retro look on the new 997.5

Man, how did you get this photo? This is all still top secret I heard. I was also told by a very close friend of mine (who is working for Porsche or something) that in accordance with the retro designs, the model numbers will also decrease again: The next 911 will be the Porsche 734.61 (TT, of course, everything goes backwards from now on).

The changes are slated for the MY09 cars. LED lights in back (slight shape change) and direct fuel injection for the motors,--probably HP increase with mileage improvements. One detractor,--the newer EU-complant "Dumbo ears" for side mirrors.
