Default BBS or HRE wheels on 997

Anybody have pics of BBS or HRE wheels on a 997 or 997S? Am looking to visualize them on an Artic Silver 997 and so far just can't seem to get there. Have seen Champion and a few Fiske also...and are nice. Am going back and forth with the 19" upgrade and may just settle on OEM Carrera S's (thanks to those I've already spoken with re: their old wheels) too but I need more data before I make that final decision.

Thanks
Rob

bbs, champion and fikse are going to be much higher quality wheels than the HREs, though HRE does make some beautiful wheels.

understand that HRE's flat lip designs also vibrate in the rain due to poor design. if you compare Fikse's technipolish centers to HRE's brushed centers, it makes the latter look like child's play.

You can see lots of examples for almost every wheel at www.wheelenhancement.com (click on a wheel, then you'll see details and a list of links at the lower right for installed pictures). Couple of my cars in there. WE is local to me and have doing business with them for years, and highly recommend them!

MrBonus and I both have (had in my case) BBS wheels (his - LM, mine - RS-GT) on our 997s. They look great, just pricey... I'll send some pics of mine when I send pics of my stockers tonight.

Default I have a set of HRE 545, and I live in one of the rainiest parts

of North America, I have no problem with vibration at all. I have heard that HRE wheels have some problems, but I keep the tire pressure at factory spec, and do a good job of avoiding the potholes, and I don't use them on the track. I like the wheels as they are not common on the 997, and they are a simple and clean design.

Good Luck and post pictures of what ever wheels you buy.

Here's a set of LM's we did a few months back for a member here. Give me a call if you like them.

Do all of the above wheels you mention take/use the factory crest wheel caps?

Ian your LM's do look very nice. Why didn't you use your factory caps?

The rest of you...other than wheelenchancements is there any similar place on the east coast where you can physically go or drive to from the DC/Metro area?

BBS does NOT take factory center caps; not sure about HRE. I had BBS RS-GT's on my former 996 and tried to find center caps for them. I have Champions on my 997S and they make some very nice and high quality wheels, worth a look.

not a fan of porsche crest on the wheels - all you need is one crest on the exterior of the car and that's up on the hood. if u go aftermarket wheels, then stick with the aftermarket wheel center caps.

"It's gotta have the aerokit"

"Not a fan of the Porsche crest"

blah blah

Is there anything you DO like? Between here and 6speed, all you do is make negative comments about everything... Damn.

Here are mine, Rob:
