^ no, i'm not kidding, but then again, maybe i don't live in a locale where ""bomb old camaros and old pickups" reside. i was referencing fine automobiles, not junked ones.

Two beautiful, conservative, yet unique factory colors:

993 Pearl white and 996 Seal Gray. The Seal Gray would be my first choice. II've only seen one in my parking garage. Couldn't take my eyes of it. Picture Adventurine Green (993/928 color) but less green and more gray. Just stunning. Do a search on the 996 forum. There is also a picture of a pearl white 993 on that forum.

I saw a flat black 930 At Werk I several years ago when visiting Porsche AG. Looked pretty mean!

Nor do I, but you see them on the highway and in the smaller towns all the time.

Sunset Pearl is beautiful but too Lambo. Some colours belong to some cars, Sage Green to Aston. I'd go Riviera Blue or something more subtle; I used to have a 944 in Metallic Maraschino (dark cherry). Looked beautiful excpet everyone took the **** as I had a 'brown Porsche'.
Macademia owners beware.....

Hey: I've got a mirage 996 (silvery-beige, or "light brown"!!!!). Careful or you'll injure my self-image.

I contrasted it with "space grey", a medium deep grey interior, and think it stays Porsche sporting more than Jaguar touring because of the contrast

Interesting, because as rare as it is (and discontinued as a standard color after a year replaced by speed yellow if I recall correctly), everyone that sees it thinks it's one of the best colors they've seen. Apparently Porsche people don't like brown much, but others are a bit maore able to judge the car on it's merits rather than the expectation that grey/silver/black is all they should be....

I'd seriously consider the Macadamia if I could envision an interior that would contrast with it (as opposed to sand or cocoa). So I'm planning GT/cocoa to get the same effect in reverse

To get back on topic, then, instead of respraying the outside, what about a "leather to sample" color that would make the macadamia "pop", letting the OP go with factory paint and still get that "unique" effect he's after? Suggestions, because I'm stumped.....

I vote for auratium green, or adria blue metallic, or lago green metallic. Old 356 colors! Here's the links. You can even order paint samples.

What a great chart, thanks for posting that. I vote for Speedster Blue, looks almost "Gulf" oil blue.
