Great looking wheels but I swaped them out for the Carrera Sport (see avitar) because they are just about impossible to keep clean inside the wheel and hard to wax and wash. They are 19" and if you are luck you might get Michelins and the wider 305's for the rear.
I ordered the Sport Design wheels on my S. Loved the look. Hated the maintenance. After 18-months I swapped 'em for Carrera Sports painted Black to match the car. Even when the CS wheels are a little dirty, you can't see it. But the Sport Designs are still great looking wheels!

A couple of coats of Rejex or WheelWax before mounting will make the Sport Designs exceptionally easy to clean. I have a dedicated microfiber washmitt for the wheels. As long as the Rejex coat is intact, they simply wipe clean with soap and water.
Then I blow them dry with a modified leaf blower (I added a filter to a cheap Toro electric, and cut down the nozzle to reduce the exit velocity). Done! 10 mins for all four.
I really like mine. I also have a set of lobster forks with Pirelli 240 SnowSports mounted; the car has a definitely different look with each set of wheels, for sure...
Thanks already use Rejex and that was my plan, anything to make it easier is better. I also use microfiber like you but I usually dry them last after the rest of my car with another microfiber towel. Microfiber like Rejex are 2 easy and cheap things for keeping the old Porsche clean.
Brake dust not a problem with the Sport Design wheels and C2S standard brakes...the dust levels are actually way lower than my Audis...takes five or ten minutes to clean the wheels and another five to dry them off.
Hey DD, I simply purchased a 3M Filtrete High Airflow disposable furnace filter from HomeD. I disassembled the cardboard filter frame to expose the material, flattened out the pleats, then cut a circle of the material slightly larger than the bottom intake on the Toro...
Then, some blue (lo tack) tape wrapped around the circumference of the intake and bingo! It's cooking.
When I store the blower, I just set it intake-down on a clean towel. The goal was not to truly filter the intake air, but to keep the big pieces out of it - as you know, these devices can also be used as yard vacuums and I certainly didn't want to sling particulates at the car (at 140mph). :-)
Also, make sure that the floor area around the car is wet to minimize dust pickup. If you do this, "blowdrying" the car becomes painless and efficient. It's especially helpful around those damned tail lights and inside the rear deck louvers, and of course the wheels/brakes.
After the blower work, one decent sized microfiber towel finishes the car off. I love washing this thing! <g>
OEM Porsche brake pads are notorious for shedding dust. I swapped my pads out for PBR Metal Masters on my 86 and I get almost no dust at all now. I'm not sure if they're available for 997 S brakes though. When it's time to replace the pads, it's time to shop around for a low-dusting option.
I have the Sport Design wheels and have considered swapping for lobster forks, but when the SD's are clean they're fabulous.
Hey Dave, how's the braking action with the Metal Masters? I had them on my BMW 7er and had good luck, but not sure how they would work on the Porsche...
