I spend a lot of time in Novi... yessir, PASM Sport ain't gonna be good for your lower back...

Last time I turned onto southbound Haggerty off of eastbound Grand River, I nearly beached my rental Taurus on the ridges in the concrete...

The actual translated quote by Walter Rohrl in Wheels is PASM was set to "Performance." Not sure where you read it was in standard. In the same tect in Standard he ran an 8:05. This is all in the official Nurburgring track logs.

My track setup:

* Sport mode on, hence PASM on
* ECO off, so red LED is lit
* rear spoiler up
* 36 psi rear tires, 30 psi front tires - cold.. equates to 42/36 psi warm

You get used to PASM and Sport mode together.

ECO == Economy - a/c compressor "off".

Default PASM and sport chrono

I've always understood that PASM in sport setting will adjust the throttle mapping and suspension dampening. What i've read here is the sport chrono package is needed to adjust the throttle response?

I have an 05 C2S with no chrono, just PASM. It seems to me PASM sport does indeed adjust throttle mappings in my car.

It's all in your mind. PASM only adjusts dampening...

PASM is Porsche Active Suspension System...it has nothing to do with the throttle mapping. When you hit the Sport button that turns on PASM and re-maps the throttle. If you hit a button with a picture of the a shock absorber that turns on and of PASM only.

And you only get the "sport button" with the chrono package?

It is a package deal. Even with the sport button on that gives you the more sensitive throttle map you can still turn PASM ( shock stifness settings) to normal shock setting. You can also turn PASM on for a stiff shock setting with out turning on Sport and re-mapping the throttle. Sport Chrono is mor than just the timer on the dash. You get other features like memory seats and other memory settings too.
