Default Interested in Running the Bonneville Salt Flats?

A group of us with AKA Rally are renting out the Bonneville Salt Flats on July 16th 2007. We're trying to get a feel to see how many people would be interested in joining, as we're considering opening this up to non rally participants for a nominal fee. This is one of those once in a lifetime experiences as you can come run your street car without all the usual club fees and long waits of a normal salt flats event. The salt will be graded and prepped, "track" insurance with on site medical, 2+ mile straight away with official speed traps so you know your "top" speed. All participants will be extensively filmed and a short documentary style film will be released shortly following the event. If you're interested or have any questions, please post or shoot me a PM.

Everyone should watch "The World's Fastest Indian" with Anthony Hopkins before they go!

micgreeny, initial estimates are ~$500, but we're hoping to get more people involved so we can bring the costs down. If you're interested in more info, toss me your email addy

I'll bet the salt will coat every square inch of the car, inside and out, and will never be able to be thoroughly cleaned. That salt will eat the car up from the inside out for the rest of its short life.

Yeah I somehow forgot about that...I know road salt is pretty bad, would the salt flats do the same? Is there a special spray you can put on before or after?
