satiate a childhood dream, or something close to it.

acheiving a status symbol for some others.

dr. jeckell and mr. hyde

a mild-mannered, well-behaived, easy-going vehicle
that gets serious and wickedly fun when pushed

and...even when pushed quite hard, it still seems as if the car is striving to take care of you, unless...as with us all, it does have it's limits.

and from one end of it's personality to the other, it looks good doing it

Really nothing but nothing else provides the total driving experience with so few compromises. After over 20 911s in various NA and turbo configurations I still can't get over how much fun a souped up VW Beetle can be!

I agree, I couldn't come up with anything the 997 literally did better than any other car hence my post.

I have always had such an affinity for these cars and even when I sell one for something different, I always end up with another one.

I would really like to know though if our beloved 997's do actually do something better than all other production cars?

Really I am not certain it does any one thing better than any other car in its class, but when taken as a whole it is one tremendous machine that does so many things very well. It reminds me of my Salamon skis. The set I have isn't necessarily great at any one thing, but they do everything extremely well. There are things that are faster than the 911, handle better (Lotus Elise), have better interior, better ride, cheaper for sure, but none of those things inspire any passion for me. The 911 does all of that for me and more, but I would still like more power.

Sexy performance-to-dollar ratio is the highest with a 911.

Turbo? Do I smell turbo?

Let me put your feelings into words.

They compell you to love one like no other.

Has the best looking backside of any car, especially in a wide body.
