"next year" as in MY 2008 or MY 2009? Maybe their currency futures are expiring!

I believe he was referring to MY 2008. Keep in mind he also said the 'facelift' will be the new 998, so I don't believe him.

Well, I was in Malaysia last week (right now I'm in Thailand) and the basic 997 ran at almost US$200,000 over there. Interestingly enough, the guy who owns the exclusive distribution rights for Porsche in Malaysia is one of the 5 richest Malaysians (but I doubt he became rich by selling Porsche cars - it probably helped that he's also the son of a former top politician).

So, it does happen,--but Blue Moons show up more often!
If I'm not mistaken, the base price for the 993 was lower than the equivalent 964... I'm guessing Fall '94 was the time.
