Default SRX Installation question

I have an SRX installed on my '07 C2S. I would never, ever use the guy who did my installation again. (He's in Denver, pm me if you want his name so you, too, can avoid him like I wish I had)

Question: He used an 'industrial strength' double stick tape to mount the front laser detectors in the front grill (sorry for the quality of photo, dirty car). The tape isn't holding.

For those of you who have the SRX, how/where did you attach the front detectors?

BTW, this unit works great.

Can you make the pic bigger??? That is a horrible install, I would get my $$$ back or make him redo it and make those heads level and use the brackets that came with your system. Plus by looking at the pic, the jammer head is in the wrong place, it is too far back and you are in great danger of getting punch through. Your jammer will not work correctly where that jammer head is located. It should be flush with the bumper or even a 1-2mm outside of the bumper to protect you from over pass shots since that is LED based jammer head and the LED's need a clear view inorder to fire back.

Who/where did you get it installed? I live in Highlands Ranch and am thinking of having one installed.

I'm sorry but that installer should be punched in his mouth. I hate when people install laser jammers and dont understand the concept how a in proper laser jammer install will get you a ticket and that justs very bad. Get your money back.

Tim, I will send you a PM.

P-CAR, I can't begin to tell you how upset I am with this guy. Not only will I not get my money back, he swindled me out of additional dollars - my own stupidity and the fact that he did my first P car and did a great job so I trusted him. Lesson learned.

I'm going to have to find out what makes a qualified installer. I called Escort yesterday and told him about this guy (he represented himself as an authorized Escort dealer/installer) and they have never heard of him so I'm not sure where he buys the units. I don't think any consumer on the street can buy them.

There is an authorized dealer in Santa Fe (3 1/2 hours away) and I'm going to have to drive there to have them reinstall the front sensors.

I would like to do it myself but it doesn't sound like it is trivial. P-CAR, do you have a source for information/DIY for mounting the front sensors?

Tim, I would suggest calling Escort to find an authorized installer. I know that Murray Motors on Colorado Blvd. is one of them.

Mark

skywaterbanjo....

I didnt notice you lived in CO. Laser jammers are illegal there and the SRX (ZR3 laser jammer) will show jam codes on the laser guns that they use in CO. Once you get your jammer fixed and its working correctly and when you run into a laser trap...SLOW DOWN very very fast and turn off your jammer and hopefully the LEO wont notice the jam code in his HUD showing the jam code.

I keep the jammer turned off while in Colorado. I use it in other states. I just use the radar and laser detectors.

Thanks for the advice PCAR.
