I have a Sand Beige Interior. I want a wood steering wheel and trim and the Sycamore is too light. It would be lost in the contrast with the leather. The Makassar is dark enough, but I think I'd prefer a burl walnut.

Anyone have an after market source for something like this??

do you have any porsche oem wood in the interior? if not, think twice unless it's something you're really lusting after.

Call me a purist but for some reason wood in a Porsche (unless it's a Cayanne) seems a bit too much. Leather, carbon fiber and stainless steel are the materials that tend to compliment the form/function of the Porsche tradition.

Save a tree and forget it!

I've never liked wood steering wheels. They are harder to keep my grip on. If my hands start to sweat it turns into a messy deal.

I love the wood on my GS300, but feel the wood steering wheel on the P-car is just a little toooooo muchhhh.

I have JUST enough wood in mine. Lest you forget, the original 911s had wood dashboards! The wood's finish is nice and grippy.

I dont think you can have to much exotic wood and fine leather in a porsche.On the other hand carbon fiber molded plastic is not to my taste.Sure wish i could take pictures like edgy does.

This isn't directed at anyone in particular but please go back and read the original post. Too much friggin conceit on this forum. He didn't ask if you like it or not. He asked if you had a source for the steering wheel. Nobody gives a crap if you don't like it because he's decided that he does so your opinion on this is irrelevant.

I had CF on the GT3. Looked great! I'd do it again except CF looks out of place (to me) with the Beige interior. Won't be taking this car to the track as I have a dedicated track car. Looking for some sophisticated bling!

I'm just gonna do the wheel, shift ****, brake, and trim strips. It will break up the unicolor interior!

I thought the sycamore, while it has a better "wood character" is too light! Just wondered if someone had a line on a different type of wood!

I wonder if Porsche NA could find the manuacturer of the sycamore wheel. Perhaps they work with multiple species and could offer you alternatives. I'm sure it would be a tedious undertaking requiring lots of persistance, but perhaps worth it....

Wood is for Lexus and Mercedes luxury sedans, not 911's.
