Is that color like BMW's laguna seca blue? Did it actually take Ruf ten months to do the work, or is there something else to the delay? How did the federalizing process (if any) work? Imported through Ruf's Dallas shop? Very nice.

Alois Ruf (a friend of Joe's,--the owner of this beast) took care of the car personally in Germany with the installation of the supercharger, adjustable shocks, Ruf brakes, wheels and body parts. The color was a special blend of a couple of colors that Joe wanted and after the trouble I had from Porsche in getting my blue turquoise, Ruf took the virgin white body and made it this "Azzurro Santa Barbara." Trust me, it doesn't look like a 'repaint' anywhere.
The installation was not that simple,--but refined in the typical Ruf manner. It took this long to sort out.
The sound is quite nice. Expect to see several articles on it in the next few months on newstands.

Here's a sampling of some photos from yesterday (some repeats):
No interior work to speak of. It's a Cocoa Brown interior (gathered leather seats). Most notible is the supercharger on the engine, the Ruf blue brake calipers, Ruf wheels, adjustable shocks and body work, mirrors.

That is correct. It was ordered here in town, as a European Delivery, and then handed off by the owner to Ruf in Germany. They have been working on it all these months. It finally arrived in the LA area last week and picked up by the owner on Sunday, driving up the coast to SB.
It still carries a Porsche VIN, and they are sorting out the deferred shipping expenses, VAT refund, etc.
Originally, when Joe took delivery on it the morning of 12 June, it was pure white, and a bone-stock Cayman S with a 3.4 litre engine. In the Fall, Joe took it out for the annual Ruf outting to Spain to drive it a bit, and then final clean up of the installation was done the last several months. Ruf picks up the drivetrain warranty.
