Dealer Incentives
Usually when the end of the year is coming and some dealers that are stuck with a lot of new cars get additional rebates to help out the dealers (which is suppose to help sell the car at a discount). Then there are those times when the manufacture produced too many units and they offer a special rebate to help unload the cars. Many times the dealers would keep these rebates for themselves. Just one of the many things that I learned from a customer of mine that used to be a car salesman.

Sorry I don't know any Porsche dealers, but I plan on starting relations this year. All I know is that in 2007 the YTD sales in the USA are 9.1% below last year's numbers. BMW and MB are both up at 2.9% and 5.9% respectively. I know that MB USA is in trouble this year because they over produced cars for the NA market. That is all the info I have currently.

8K off C2s
Local dealer in Cincinnati advertising 8k of C2s in stock ( 4-C2, 2-C2S)
Beechmont Porsche also on automiledirect. (I don't have enough posts to put in link.)
Don't recommend dealer. High pressure. Test drove a car last year got over 10 calls over the next three months. They even tracked down my home phone number which I didn't give them and specified no calls on the sheet I filled out.

I'm picking up my new 06 C2S tomorrow morning. I got $11,550 off the MSRP, a couple hundred dollars under the invoice. I'm sure there are some incentives in there so the dealer will make some money on paper. They did have to use the floor space which costs them money.

I bought my 06 997S cab, one year ago today. The car was on the showroom floor 102K sticker I paid 90K plus tax. I have found with Porsches and a few other makes where you are in the country can make a big difference in the way dealers will discount cars. In my area you can usually get a pretty good deal.

FYI looks like 997 sales are up so far this year compared to 2006. My local dealer in Rochester has sold all of their allocation for 2007 which in the past has not been the case with 911s. I have no idea if this is the situation elsewhere but those who are contemplating a new 997 for this summer should shop now or place an order for MY2008.
