Sand beige - reflection off windshield
I'm looking into a sand beige interior - I think it's very rich looking with midnight blue. Do any sand beige owners have a problem with the reflection of the dash off the windshield?

Suggest you consider Natural Brown leather instead if you want rich looking and less reflection. The other thing that the lighter colors have going for them is they don't show dust like a pure blackm but the reflection issue is always there (hence, some go for the two-tone interiors). I find the natural brown a good compromise.

I believe you can get it with the bi color option with black on the dash board. I have the option with black/gray. You would need the option because of the reflection of the sand....GR

I like the natural brown, but would need to order the headliner in leather to avoid having a black healiner. Also, I would need to order the dome lamp cover and visors in leather too. The black/sand would be an option with midnight, I need to see it in person to determine if I like it.

I don't recall it being a problem on my 996 with savanna beige full leather, but after reading about reflection somewhere, I went to a dealer with a large stock of 997's. There was clearly more reflection by the sand beige than black. Natural brown leather seemed less reflective than the sand beige. Most of the reflection was from vents on the right side of the dash and the sport chrono, especially the ring at the base. I am not sure if any of this amounts to anything when you are driving and focused on the road. On the other hand, maybe this is why a two tone interior is offered.
I am pretty sold on a two tone interior (black/terracotta, possibly with deviating color carpet - black) because I like the black dash better, full terracotta is a bit much for me, and the reflection issue made me think twice.

Maui Jim's
I have had two full Beige interiors on my cabs, and Maui Jim's are the only answer. The downside to dark dash material is you see all the lint/dust/etc.
$200 for a good set of MJ's, case closed.

I actually had a set of Maui Jim's titanium frames with the polycarbonate lenses when I had my 993 C2 cab - a valet lifted them from the car one night. I learned my lesson about keeping valuables in the car.

I agree with Dan get the Natural Brown Leather with midnight blue and metropol blue top(if its a cab).We had a new 04 Boxster in the show room with that color combo and to this day it is still my favorite Boxster we ever sold. When She sells if I have the means I would buy it, and I don't even care that it's a tip. I did drive it around the dealership lot in the sun and the reflectio wasn't bad

I'm definitely getting another pair of MJs. The midnight blue/sand would definitely looks great. I've been keeping my eyes open for other midnights on the road and they all appear to be dull looking unless they are well detailed. I may be crazy for saying this, but midnight may show swirls more than black. Has anyone seen a cobalt/sand combo?

If i had it to do over i would have gone with the natural brown though i have had no problem with a reflection .The brown would have looked better with my cocoa top and ivory paint. The brown just looks classier.Spend the money on the leather options cause you spend more time in the car than out.

I wanted sand beige in my Cayman. Read about the reflection issue. Went to the dealer at dusk, drove some cars, and ditched the Sand Beige for Stone Grey. Big refelctions problems, with the Cayman dash at least.
Another note on the 2-tone interior. Black-grey worke great as they are relatively close in tone. I looked at a black-beige car, and the contrast is just WAAAAY too much. Does not go tgether at all.
Just my two cents.
