I remember seeing a 996 Cab in Napa a couple of years ago with a trailer hitch and bike rack attached. Ugly as sin but it worked because the guy had his top down and a bike on the hitch.

There is no simple system for that. At one time I think that they claimed that their roof mounts fit their hardtops but the hardtops today still have no attachment point for something like a bike rack. The alu. roofs are not designed to handle that sort of weight. If you deparately have to handle a mtn bike in a cabriolet this is what I would do:

(1) Take off the front wheel, maybe the pedals, too, and then wrap the whole mess into a large thickly padded furniture pad (quilted) and place it in the rear section of the car when the top is down.

(2) But another vehicle for bikes (that's what I do).

I could do to my car trying to use it to haul stuff. The Porsche is only used for pleasure, too small to haul stuff, wife doesn't enjoy driving in it, and my kids are still in child seats. So it is just me (which I am OK with)!
