In Praise of 911 Handling!
While headed to a meeting earlier this afternoon, I was cruising (not too closely!) behind a pickup truck with one of those built-in tool boxes in the back. We were doing about 70 in a 65, and his tool box lid flapped up, then back down. About twenty seconds later it shot off the top of the box and landed on the road in front of me.
I knew the lanes next to me were open, so I swerved hard right to miss the lid, then swerved hard left to stay in the lane that was previously to my right.
I have never taken my car to the track nor pushed it to its limit in any way, shape or form. I can tell you that after the quick manuever this afternoon, I was exceedingly proud of my car. No bad manners, no complaints, no tire squeels, no nothing.
I will be headed to the track in the very near future to experience what these cars are really all about.
Enjoy your cars... I know I will.
Mike
