PCCB Shortage
Reading of the shortage of PCCB brakes now for vehicles going through production and for orders. Apparently Porsche has gone through their allocation of PCCBs already for the 997TT cars. They have ceased to accept PCCB orders until next model year.
When I was at the factory last summer they explained (during the tour) that there are 150 trucks a day passing through the gates making material deliveries. One guy who brings the front suspensions in (fully assembled, in production sequence) shows up with 6 on his truck every 30 minutes to keep the line moving.
It looks like the PCCBs are catching on! Others have broken the code.

If you compare this to the good old days of Porsche (65 a day,--on a good day!), this is pretty good. This is for all models of 997.

Considering the 997 in its current guise won't be around after another year or so, I don't think there will be so many as to flood the market. Consider the 993 - it is a highly-valued model now and it seems harder and harder to find good ones that aren't astronomically priced.

It drives me crazy, Dan - I have been to Munich 5 times in the last 8 months and still can't find an extra day to get to Stuttgart.
I have a six week Sabbatical this summer. I'm going. I have to see the factory.

You need to just take the time! If transportation is an issue take the train. It couldn't be any easier in Europe. Schedule the factory tour upfront.
