I CANT STAND IT !!!
Need heat now..but mother nature is winning or is she ..?
I should be clear but cool north of the 49th..
we are talking -2c (30F) to +5c for the next few days and then moving up to a bomie 8-9c .. (40F)
Can I drive my S machine with the PZero Rosso's ? .. no snow of course.. just a nice cruise in the back roads and nominal touring speeds ?
any experience
Thanks Lads..

No problem... Last week it was 27 degrees on the way to Lime Rock for DEs and the PS2s (others had Pzeros) were just fine. Try to keep it to 8/10ths though until it's 40 degrees +.

You can drive on summer tires in those conditions but don't lean on them!
They lose grip below about 40F (regardless of whether it's wet or dry) because they never get enough heat in them to get sticky.

The PS2s do turn to stone below about 35 degrees F... it's especially bad if you park it outside for an extended period of time.
Last year (before I invested in the second set of wheels with Pirelli 240 SnowSports) I chose a sunny late February day to drive the 911 to work. It was 0 degrees F.
I pulled out of my (heated) garage, drove carefully for a few miles, and said to myself: "What the Hell is the ruckus all about? These tires are fine in the cold!"
I parked in my covered (but exposed) spot at the office, and went inside for 8 hours.
There's nothing like an 8-hour cold soak at 0 to -5 deg F to turn a max performance summer tire into a lopsided approximation of a worn solid plastic tricycle rear wheel. The car was basically un-driveable on the 12 mile trip home.
Moral of this story? Have a great drive - just don't park it for too long! <g>

We had quite heavy snow about six weeks back and I was called to court unexpectedly. My wife was out in her Audi so I went in the Porsche (PZero-shod). All the way there - 30Km mostly town driving - on hard-packed snow, drove with extra care but the car was fine. I wouldn't like to do it every day - more out of the fear of others over-cooking it on a zero friction surface. I regularly drive to work in winter -2C or so and sometimes ice on the lanes and the PZeros are fine. If I tank it one day (please God, no....) it'll be the klutz behind the wheel's fault, not the tyres!
