Default PCM2 Phone Synch

I've had my car for 3 weeks now (living now in SW France so bought a car locally, supplied - naturally- with a French manual) It's a GT Silver 05 2S with 14k kms on the clock, full leather cocoa interior and has almost a full house of options - I'm loving it, but...

I finally gave up with the (French) manual trying to find out how to synchronise my SIM address book with the PCM phone address book. A simple task I'd have thought as you can do it in seconds with any cheap old mobile phone; but not, it seems, with the Porsche system???

Have I missed something in the manual or is this normal - hate the idea of having to put all the stuff in by hand!! Must put some photos up..

Forget the French Manual. Get the French Maid instead...let her deal with it.

I don't think there is a PCM phone module address book. As far as I know the SIM carries your numbers into the PCM when you plug the card into the slot and the PCM reads the card. When you take the card out the address book goes with it. One thing I haven't managed to do is get the caller's name to appear in the display when I know the caller's name is on the SIM. Still some work to do here!!

That is correct. There is no synchronization to do. The PCM reads the contacts from the SIM card. So stick the SIM in the phone, copy entries from phone to sim, stick into PCM, and as they say over there, VOILA!!!
But be warned. I have a full SIM 200 names, and its HELL to navigate through the names, as there is no way to select letters and jump to them.

Bonne chance monsieur.

Voila indeed!

I forgot that I'd left the numbers in the phone mem and not on the SIM - see what you mean about scrolling through the list though!!

If I get the name of the caller up next time I get a call I'll let you know.

thanks for the memory jog
