Interesting, the price point kills the value for me.

R8 loaded up it is in solid 911 pricing, (loaded 997S, GT-3 or a lightly optioned turbo). It may be nice, interesting and new but no GT-3 or turbo.

The UK pricing has been available on the UK audi website for a couple of months.

I had a quick run thru the spec and its comparable in price to a pretty well specc'd GT3 in the UK - and thats only the introductory 400bhp model. Wait for the 500bhp model Im guessing its gonna be well into TT pricing!

Superb car in in many ways far more unique than any 997, however at the end of the day its an Audi. Same problem with the BMW M6, superb car but its playing outside of its league.

Only somebody with more money than good sense would want to spend so much on a car so far outside the brand market, far better IMHO to go for a standard 997C and pocket the difference. As Ive always said, its better to be the "sh*t of kings" than the "king of sh*t"

There will be two - but only the V8 on launch. Lambo V10 follows.

Default Second engine availability would be in the future. One for now.

reply in subject. The software for this webforum is sub-optimal.

Good Lord, Lee, have you escaped from a Philip Dick novel?

Pricing is as expected, filling the very small niche between the C4S and Turbo.

Draxa, you escaped too?

Actually, you start talking like that when you deal with a lot of software Engineers.. then you start saying things like "assumptions are the mother of all f*#% ups".. and then it just gets ugly from there.

Thanks, buddy! I was surprised because I had asked my sales dude just yesterday and he said he did not know when they would announce the price. Cool stuff. Still not convinced if I would like it. I wish I could see a real one.

I saw and sat in the real one and it has nice lines but it is bigger than a Carrera. If you are tall you will fit better and have a better driving position in a Carrera than the R8. If you like the see through engine glass on a Ferrari and can;t afford one then the R8 might be your choice. It seems like a heavy car.
