I had three e46 M3s with manual transmissions before my 07 997S, plus many other manual transmission cars. In the 4 months I have owned the 997S, I have stalled it more than all the M3s combined.

I know that air in the system means the pedal would be spongey, Doesnt necessarily mean you would have difficulty changing gears, but you know as i know you dont always know the whole story, hence i covered all my bases.

Just for reference -- I have my 07 997S since new. and now has about 4K miles on it.

I checked today, with my car the idle rpm was 800rpm steady (with A/C On), and 790rpm steady (with A/C Off). The outside temperature was 75F. When I started the car in 1st gear from stop on level ground, the clutch engaged smoothly (in P-car standard) somewhere between 40% and 60% of the pedal travel.

If your beloved 997S idled around 650rpm, it might not be a bad idea to having your dealer does a quick check or adjustment.

Just a thought,

With best regards,
- Alex.
