Removing 997 Front Bumper Cover?
Does anyone have tips to removing front bumper cover off a 2007 997?
I just got an aero kit bumper and want to replace it myself.
Looked on DYI forums but there is nothing there for 997' sadly enough.

I really want to try doing it myself so that I can pass on what I learn herein,--but here is what I have learned a little:
(1) First, remove the headlight assembles.
(2) Remove all the visible screws beneath the bumper.
(3) Be extra careful removing the bumper near the airducts that ram air into the a/c condensors and radiators as it is extremely easy to break some of those fasteners. I suspect they are one-use fasteners and can get you into trouble.
That's all I know for now.

I've removed mine from my 996 cup and it's no big deal. I think Dan covered the basics removing all the lights and harnesses and being careful around the coolers, etc. I remember removing the wheel well liners too as I found there are screw there....

Bumper cover removal - I followed this one with success
Nice job Mike !
This was quite useful as well:

BTW: I took a different route and put my SS screens about 1/4 inch standing off the radiators - allows for easy vacuum ..just another way of doing it..............

Yeah, that manual is about as useful as a blank page. DUH, we all know that information already.
What we DON"T know and would like from the manual is this: Where are the screws we need to remove and how many of them are there. And: Any clips or guides we need to worry about?
The links above are excellent and will get you there.

Hats off to Mike and the detail of removing the bumper! Everyone should learn how to remove the darn thing as it's the best way to fully clean the condensors and radiators.
I know Renntech has the Aerokit install detail from the workshop manual, but as shown in previous post, workshop manual is a bit lacking.
Regards,
Deanski

I jacked mine up on stands.
Removed the wheels and wheel liners.
Romoved front part of belly pan.
Pinched the headlight washer hose on the drivers side.
Popped out the side markers, bugger of a screw under there to put back.
Un do electrical connection on passengers side.
Pull out clips at the seamwhere the cover meets the steel, from the boot opening.
This is in addition to removing all of the screws that you can see.
At least that is what I remember of the process.
