Porsche Parade -- San Diego
Is anyone from the 997 world going to the Porsche Parage (with the Porsche Club of America)?
Is it just me or can anyone stand going to something where all they do is talk about Porsches 24-hours a day for a week. (This Parade is supposed to be shorter than the rest). I have never been registered for any Parade, been, to 2-3, was Worker Chairman in the Boston 91 Parade, but just can't put up with such an obsession.
I don't plan attending formally,--MAYBE going down for a day. I just don't think I woud be able to tolerate it.

To each his own. We have been to 6: Portland 2X, Steamboat Springs, Sacramento, Boise and Hershey), and have signed up for San Diego. Most of the regulars I have talked to didn't want the Parade shortened.

I am pretty much with you, Dan. I'll probably go down there for a day or maybe two, but mainly to check out the cars and perhaps hook up with friends from the Porsche world. I took my 356 down to Costa Mesa for the big swap meet Sunday, but other than enjoying seeing a few friends and meeting a few people I have previously only talked to on the phone, actually it starts getting boring a little too quickly.

The Porsche Swap Meet in Costa Mesa on Sunday was pretty blah. We arrived early and were headed home by 10 AM.
Honestly, this annual get-together hasn't been the same since Dunkel Brothers "retired" as hosts after the 2004 show. Those Dunkel Brothers meets were packed with Porsches of all persuasions...and the swap meet part was much bigger.

I'll be going to my first Parade, with my first P-car. It does sound like a bit much to be involved in all of it, and I'm not willing to take days off from work for the events. So, I did sign up for evening and weekend events, the July 4 autocross, and signed pops up as my co-entrant so he can participate and run the gimmick rally in his old Cab.
