I get a mixed bag too. I once got a Cayman, and loved it. They have an Enterprise on site from which I have gotten everything from a Jag, Pontiac, Yukon, Durango, Camry, Envoy, Sebring, and I do not know what else. I really liked the Cayman. Everything else was pretty much ****e, but I was glad to get transportation so it wasn't the end of the world. I do wish they had more Porsche loaners. At least every time I go to BMW they give me another BMW to drive.

I get a KIA, but I don't expect a Porsche as my dealer has no more than 10 porsches (all makes) on the lot at one time.

Years ago when in the Boston area my neighbor's wife used to drop off her big black Mercedes and they would give her a Chevy or something like that to drive. I was passing through Oklahoma City during a cross-country run and stopped in to have a tranny worked on. It was a new acquisition,--an old '68 VW Karmann Ghia. They gave me a nice relatively new Mercedes to drive while the VW was in the shop! Later, I never failed to give Sandy a hard time about her MB for Chevy exchanges! (We wound up buying that MB in OKC and took two cars to Boston!)

If I reserve a couple weeks in advance, and get to the dealer early (like before 8 am), they will give me a Cayman, Boxster or Cayenne-- which ever I choose. Last time I was in for service I had reserved a Cayman, but it was snowing, so they let me take a Q7.

I must be fortunate. The salesman drops of a Cayenne or Cayenne s to my house when my 911 needs service. Goes back to loyalty to the dealer. I might pay a few thousand more for the car but the service is were it is made up.

No complaints here. I've gotten either Boxster's or Cayenne's. On rare occasions when all loaners were still out they've set up Enterprise rental cars on their tab.

You're comparing a $100,000 Porsche Luxury car to a rental, base of the base model chevrolet cobalt. You're a fool.

That's a little harsh. I could compare a Cobalt to the new Civic ($15K and $15K) and have the same comments. American cars are generally rubbish... I don't blame the car companies as much as the ridiculous pensions they are paying out.

I am comparing it to a 74' Porsche or a Base civic it is still sub standard for a entry level car. A friend had a 99' Base Civic and it drove nicer than the Cobalt. Chevy's higher end cars are much better. I have had 6 Suburbans and or Tahoes in the last 12 years. This time I tried a Nissan Titan and the material quality is way less than the Chevy's.

It's my impression is that at Beverly Hills Porsche it must be there for a warranty required service. For example, I wanted my oil changed at 10,000 miles-no loaner for that since not mandated by warranty. Second time I was there for open recalls and they gave me a 2006 Boxster.

I've owned Volvos, Saabs, and now a Porsche, and all of the dealers have given me loaners virtually every time I've taken my car to them, regardless of where I've purchased it. I always try to make an appointment several days in advance, and ask for a loaner at that time. Most of the time I get a car of the same make as I own, but sometimes when all their loaners are out, I get something from enterprise. I much prefer getting the Porsche/Volvo/Saab,... but you know, it's just nice to have a car to drive while yours is in the shop. Try getting that type of treatment with a Ford, Chevy, Honda, ...

Stevinson Porsche-Jaguar in Denver usually loans a used Jag, unless you can convince them you are in the market for a new P-car, then they might loan you one of those. Cayenne has been in many times, 911 too new.

Land Rover of Colorado Springs loans Land Rovers during service (very infrequent, i might add).

With a scheduled appointment Herb Chambers has a Porsche of some type to loan - without an appointment they will get something but not always a P-car. Even my Audi dealer always as an Audi for me. I can't understand why a dealer would not...

Just to give you guys some insight, Porsche pays very very very little as compared to other car companies for reimbursemenet on the loaners. That having been said we give out Cayenne S's and/or brand new Mercedes Benz. No enterprise anything. Ever.

I should add that even though I do get a Porsche, they charge $20 per day for it.
