Default Fabspeed Experience

After much deliberation as to which exhaust system to purchase, I decided to go with the Fabspeeed Maxflows for my 997S. Not wanting to screw up the install, and living about 50 miles from Fabspeed Motorsports, I decided to have them install the mufflers. I also wanted to have them install the Cold Air Kit and a BMC air filter while there.

I thought some of you might be interested in my unbiased take of their operation, and the results of the installation.

They have been at this location for about a year, and they are in the process of remodeling to create a better facility for waiting customers. The building includes offices, a fabrication shop, wharehouse/distribution center, and installation/service area. It is unassuming, but fully functional.

Joe Fabiani, Jay the VP Sales, and the entire install team could not have been more helpful. Joe answers all questions patiently and comprehensively. They were meticulous in working on my car.

The total install, mufflers and cold air kit took less than 2 hours and the installation was absolutely perfect, e.g., tip alignment. The quality of the mufflers is excellent, and in my opinion, excellent value, particularly when comparing the price to PSE.

Joe says that the mufflers and air kit increase horsepower in the 15-20 range. I can't say that I can feel a 20Hp increase, but I can say it sounds like a 20HP increase. My smile says a 20HP increase!

Congrats, maybe some pics?

I doubt just the exhaust mods will give you 15-20 hp more like 2-5 in my opinion. Thinking of getting exhaust mod myself, mainly for the sound and weight reduction.

Sound and workmanship is great I'm sure. HP increase hell no. But the seat of the pants feeling might tell you the HP is increased just because it sounds so good now.

I was/am as skeptical as you guys re HP increase, however, dyno says it is so, and the dyno does not lie. Of course, I understand the dyno test was done by Fabspeed, however, Joe Fabiani did not strike me as a BS artist. I suppose one would expect a bit of seller hyperbole.

As I said earlier, I can't feel a 15-20HP increase, although, I'm not sure you can actually feel that size increase.

How about this... a real test...we find a safe place, track or strip, and we line my car up with a bone stock 997S, and do some rolling start acceleration runs, and see if my car pulls the stock car. I'm in Perrineville, NJ.

The sound, ahh, the sound, sooo much better than stock!!

I have Fabspeed's exhaust, but I went with the EVO CAI kit. In my opinion it is the only one worth spending money on. I am doing a GIAC ECU upgrade next week.

Congratulations on the new system - my AWE goes in very soon.

Guys, can you please refrain from the "same-old" about your doubts of any gains? We've been through this many times and the dynos have been posted, the experts chimed in, etc. Just be happy for our fellow RennLister

While I was at fabspeed, Fabiani gave me a peek at the current Fabspeed mods he installed, and the new mods he is testing on his new red 997 TT.
Looks like with all the mods you could expect well ovr 600HP.

I have the Fabspeed mufflers on my C2S and I love them...wife does too!

Does Fabspeed make the cold air kit in black instead of red?
