Default Cleaning engine compartment

I tried to do a search without much success. Apologies in advance if this has been covered previously. Has anyone cleaned the engine compartment? Any suggestions on cleaning products?

Simple Green is a bio-degradable cleaner that I have used. I spray it on then let it sit for about 5 minutes and then use my power sprayer to rinse it off. Then I use my electric leaf blower to blow off the excess water and dry the engine compartment as much as possible. Then if you want, you can follow it up with some detailing products of your choice.

I try to keep it clean by dusting off all reachable parts with a clean old MFT, wiping as best I can. For the hard to reach areas I use that detail brush shown.

I haven't had to worry about the formation of crud yet. I'm going to try to stay on top of it so it never forms, then I won't have to deal with it. But I'm sure I won't be able to keep it this clean for long.

Hey Draxa, how's it going Buddy?

Well, not using it as a daily driver and having less than 4k miles on the clock might have something to do with that.

It's all #@!!$% good Ben.

My wife and I alternate in my car and rain, snow or shine, it gets a drive somewhere most days. It's occasionally depressing to spend an hour or so Saturday morning washing and drying the car only to slosh through a muddy, horse-manure-filled puddle a hundred metres from home.....

I'm inspired by your engine though; might have a stab at that in the spring.
