Wheel Advice Needed
Hi Folks,
Moved from 993 to Cayman S last year and am close to moving back to a 997S. I have found a car that's optioned right for me, except that is has the Carrera S wheels - I would prefer Carrera Classics or Sport Design. The dealer does not have either of those, but does have Carrera Sports he is willing to put on the car. I have two questions:
1. These wheels and tires are wider than the other 19's. Anyone had issues with rough ride, grooved pavement, etc. with the 305's?
2. I have not seen these wheels on a Speed Yellow car. The greyish color looks great on Seal, Meteor and White. Anyone have pictures or seen them on SY?
Any thoughts most appreciated.
Steve
PS: I'll be re-upping my membership now that I am coming back from the Cayman Club.

The grey on the wheels is actually GT Silver - it looks good on Yellow cars...
I don't have first-hand experience about the 305 ride vs. 295s, but given that I've jumped from 225s to 245s, 235s to 255s before, I don't think the ride difference will be that noticeable considering the sidewall height/stiffness will be the same. I'm sure the dry grip difference would be worth it.
If the dealer is willing to throw some Carrera Sports on there, take 'em.
Post pics if/when you do it!
