I guess my point was that in a partnership people tend to work together and so I always look to receive the opinion of my life-partner or my business partner before making a decision. It's not that I won't end up where I wanted to be, but that I would honor the relationship by talking about whatever subject.
OK, that makes sense and I agree. We always "talk" about it, but in the end, like you, I'll end up where I want to be. Unless it has a direct effect on her - then more compromise is in order.
Here's the color I was suggesting,--Signal Yellow from the 70s. Looks terrific on this GT as well as a 996TT. Never seen it on a 997. Perhaps you could be the first?

Found this pic on the CGT forum. The Signal Orange car is the TT and the GT2 is Speed Yellow. The Signal Yellow is a little 'orangier' - I think it's really nice. EDIT: as noted below, I meant to write "Signal Yellow" not "Signal Orange."
If you do go with black (my choice over yellow), I'd get Basalt - it has a lot of depth to it.
As far as yellow goes, the only yellow I like is that pale yellow you see on old 911s or 356s - I am not sure of the shade, but it looks awesome. My dad had it on his 356C when I was a kid.
Happily, for 15 years. Unless the person is going to be sharing the car with you I don't get how someone should have to like or approve the color your getting? My wife picked the color of her car, I picked mine. Now, buying the car itself takes some wheeling and dealing. Especially when my 997S is not a year old and decided I wanted a TT. That took some doing, but she came around. I was actually shocked when she suggested cobalt as she's pretty conservative. She said I"m always getting boring silver/grey and that I should get a "color" this time. She certainly won't give it a seconds thought that I ordered something different.
I am glad you have worked out the kinks. I have been married two years and my wife still hates my Porsche. If I have gotten speed yellow, I would be sleeping in the garage with it...not so bad of an idea Guess we are still in a bit of a tug-of-war. I understand it takes about 5 years for submission-acceptance-reconciliation-you do what the hell you want milestone.

Doesn't look like Signal Orange to me. Are you sure about this?
Next 911 will be Pearl Yellow......Actually, its a Harley Davidson color. It's pearlescent metallic with yellow and is truly OUTSTANDING! I posted a thread here earlier on this color and someone photo-shopped it for me. My first choice was to buy a Speed Yellow, second Guards Red, third Midnight Blue. Dealer had a C4S on the floor, Midnight Blue with everything I wanted...so I drove it home. Just be sure to get what you want or you will always regret it whenever you look at it. Good Luck....post pics!!!!
