Default Garage Walls

We've talked about garage floors quite a bit here. Does anyone have any options for garage walls other than simply painting?

What do you think of this:
http://www.garagetek.com/

It looks like you can only buy this wall product if you're having the garage tek company do the work and it's $$$$. I'm looking for something that I can do myself.

Here's my garage. Any suggestions:

It looks nice, but I prefer all the vertical white lines on your walls.

My Dad has that in his garage and its nice. The only problem is that you spend quite a bit to do the entire wall and a large portion (bottom 1/2) of the wall is really that usable for mounting things. I actally have wainscoat and chair rail around my garage which I like quite a bit. Above that I have all the street and speed limit signs I "acquired" during my younger days. I actually get a lot of compliments on my garage from people who see it.

I really like your floors and I think finishing the walls will make it quite a nice garage.

Leave as-is. White stripes are great for knowing where studs are. Its a garage. I would invest some time and money though into properly insulating it.

Elusive, your garage looks suspiciously like mine (complete with half-finished drywall & white lines). Maybe it's a Colorado thing.

I personally don't like the Garage Tek walls for the price. I'm going to have mine textured and painted. I have a buddy who did his gray floor with yellow lines like a highway that continues up onto the wall merging into a mural of the highway heading into the mountains. It's pretty cool.

I suppose that I'll have it textured and painted as well...I was just curious if there were other options out there that people had tried and liked. No way I would ever spend the money on the garage tek stuff. The mural sounds pretty darn sweet.

It's not a Colorado thing. My garage has the lines as well.

Here are some photos of my garage walls
Had garage built with pylwood walls and painted.
Makes it easy to hang things anywhere.

Here's a thread about garages. Mine is the last post. I think I paid around $10K for 3 walls and the floating plastic tile floor (not including painting or electric lights).

https://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum/288902-dream-garages.html

The wall system is http://storewall.com/ . It comes in 2 thicknesses, regular and heavy duty. The regular is the same thickness as GarageTek. Heavy duty is about twice as thick. Storewall is just a wall mounting product and other manufacturers accessories can be used. There maybe several contractors in your area using this product to competitive bidding is easy.

I solicited proposals from several garage organizers, including GarageTek. They are franchises so you will probably only find 1 in your area. I eliminated GarageTek for the following reasons:
1) More expensive
2) Resin cabinets didn't look or feel sturdy
3) Have to use all GarageTek branded accessories
4) Annoying high pressure sales routine

Hope this helps.
