No doubt about that.

I just couldn't confirm and thus verify the veracity of your information. It sounded right, but I couldn't say for sure it was absolutely correct.

I think you're missing the obvious here.

Nowhere in your username or your signature do you make it clear that you work in a Porsche maintenance or parts shop, and would thus be likely to know that fact about warranty parts. If you had said so in your post initially you might have gotten a "You're probably right" from me instead of a "I think you're right" that you got, as I still wouldn't have been able to verify your credentials.

Just my luck! The first Porsche I buy with a water pump and they have to replace it at 9000 miles!
OK, Dan. Though I didn't do it here on the board, I believe I qualify for the diagnosis prize, as I told you right after you posted this, that my guess was a water pump.

Hmmm, the D2X would be suitable compensation or the the 13mm lens

I'm sure that the fact your Porsche is a well optioned, special colour doesn't hurt your chances at getting good service.

Funny you mention that,---when the guy came to pick me up at home to take me to the dealership he asked what brand I was picking up (they sell Mercedes, BMW, Jag and Porsche) and I said the blue Porsche,--even that guy knew the car! "SB 997S?" he asked?

It makes it easier to identify in a crowd.

I can tell you that there is no direct link between car color and radar. I greatly suspect, however, there is a link between global warming on Mars and the Earth. It's a solar thing...but don't get me started.
