Forgive me, Guess my lack of knowledge on the P-Car showed up again. I though the rear window washer nozzle was the new Sat ant. Hehehe, maybe that's a good place it , right???

Easy upgrade later too.

+1. God I hope this is not the final version. Tail lights look horrible, car looks narrower and higher off the ground.

I think he might have been and is now on the procurement side of things.

But I think MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) is mainly used in military and aerospace specifications. It may well now be in use in other industries like the automotive.

I think because we've seen these cosmetic changes before in other spy shots.

What's interesting is that they've tried to camouflage the proposed changes to make them look like a standard 997 at first glance. The droopy tailights have been blacked out to make them like the current 997 lights. Likewise with the turbo look fog lights and turn indicators being disguised to look like the current 997.

What I don't like about the proposed new look is the separate body panel that houses the exhaust tips.

The transistion to the "new Cayenne" lights/style is there...

No,--but I play one on tv?

I work daily with engineers; please forgive the slip up.

I'm an analog engineer and have to deal with this kind of stuff from the production folks (Fab/process folks) that makes something a pain.

Anyway, just thought it was interesting to see that. Thx.

looks great - dates the incandescent lights on existing 911s really quickly and will make it ultra-hard for any sort of retrofits

more aggressive look

factory LEDs modernizes cars greatly... who cares about all that safety stuff

As I recall from several months ago there is a lighting company that sells LED bulb replacements to standard incandescent automotive bulbs. Perhaps that route can accomplish essentially the same thing for all of us with such "outdated" technologies in our 05-08 cars!

Anyone recall that link? Ben?

The taillights don't bother me much, but the rear valence does. It works OK with the Euro plate, but add the US-spec bumperettes (with awkward shaped outer edges; the cut-out is no longer square) and a taller US plate which will hang down over the 'diffuser', and it will look atrocious. Hopefully there will be a better design for US-spec cars.

The front bumper looks OK, but by integrating the turn signals into the top of the outer intakes, they're reverting back to a design similar to a Boxster. Strange, as the original 987/997 finally differentiated the two when viewed from the front.

To me the current generation 997 is automotive perfection. I just don't think they can improve upon this with the direction they are going now.
