Default New Escort Radar Detector

I just ordered the new Passport 9500i detector from Escort. It incorporates a GPS chip inside to help eliminate false alarms. Delivery will be in February.

Thanks for the heads-up.
Here's the link: http://www.escortradar.com/9500i.htm

I wonder why no blue display option like with the X50? I did see under the accessories there is a blue option smart cord however.

Default Valentine 1 and Passport 8500 X50 owner

wow...nice. that should give valentine a run for the money. i hope they follow suit and add the GPS, but i cant see how they would be able to offer an upgrade without replacing the whole unit. hmm....

time will tell if the GPS option really works very well, seems like stuff like that is kind of buggy at first. please let us know how you like it. a short review would be great.

if only they could use the GPS to detect where the cops were all problems would be solved.

The problem with the GPS lockout feature is many times you don't know whether its a false signal or not. Police do still use X-band.

Woah, forget about that unit. It states: "The radar or laser band, signal strength, and now your vehicle speed are displayed during an alert to help you make the best possible decision." That, along with GPS capability means that law enforcement could hack into it to use this info against you. Just say no to Big Bro

If you don't believe it, then read this about the FBI being able to listen to conversations in a room when your cell phone is turned off. Here:http://news.com.com/FBI+taps+cell+ph...3-6140191.html
