Congrats! Nice car. Unless people have actually driven a Cayenne, they have no idea how great they are. If it would have towed my 9k lb car and trailer full of s**t, I would have kept mine. I love the red.

Have you guys seen what the '08 Cayenne looks like?
It's got a more aggressive look in the front:

Irene and I finally got to pick up our Coochas Cayenne yesterday after negotiating brutal work schedules, insurance foul ups, and of course DMV red tape.
We just love the car. The quality feels just as high as that on my 997.
I am surprised that many of the controls (like the computer heads up display) are in different places in the Cayenne. Just makes it more fun to learn.
I ordered the basic Pirelli Scorpion winter tires and 18" rims from Tire Rack and had them swapped out before we even drove away with the car (we're heading to VT and figured we better put some proper rubber on).
Irene is just loving the car but I'm hoping she'll let me do some driving soon!!!! LOL.
Here are some low rez Treo pics showing the snow tires and my happy Irene.
Thanks again for all of the input in my buying decision and the well wishes.

I posted this as a separate topic in the Cayenne forum but thought I'd add it on t my thread here. The Cayenne is AWESOME - it is so much fun to drive!
We’ve had our Cayenne a little less than a week now and I can’t say enough awesome things about it – it is soooo sweet. The bad news is I want one of my own now – except maybe with “turbo” scribbled between the Cayenne and S – but that is years away!!!!
The Cayenne drives much more like a sport sedan rather than a big SUV. Both my wife and I find it difficult not to speed. On the highway cruising at 85 is effortless and a few spurts in the low 100s seemed no different. The cornering is astounding for a vehicle this size – I am truly sold.
The 18” Pirelli Scorpions are working very well here in VT – fantastic snow vehicle!
I can also say that we’re enjoying the ‘luxury’ aspects of our new purchase. It is super comfortable. The climate control system seems top notch. PCM is PCM. The little things like the welcoming lights on the side view mirrors, motorized collapsible side view mirrors, and pano-roof are great. Here’s the one frivolous option that the car has that might be my favorite: the heated steering wheel that comes on automatically! It’s better than the heated seats!!!
The ski bag is also pretty cool. I included some pics for anyone who is not clear about what this no-cost option does….we like it!

I think we are on the same track regarding that blimmin little script in between the Cayenne and the S. Over here we had the proper Turbo S's as well, with 520 hp vs 450. At a "brace yourself" price of 190k EUROS!!!
Now the new lineup is coming in April, the Turbo gets 500hp, so perhaps no Turbo S to follow... for now. But I am hoping that it will make the pre-face lift models come off so I can pick up a Turbo or a Turbo S for half the money...
Now you see, at the end of the day, if I had gotten a 997TT like I wanted, I could have saved that money and kept the X5 a little while longer... But I admit... I've been bit. And boy its an expensive bug!!!!
Enjoy Dave, have fun skiing.

It must of been nice growing up on that lake. The pictures draw me right in. It's great that you can still enjoy it as an adult. Irene looks totally happy in the new Cayenne. Here's to living well Dave!
