Both my teenage daughters (14 & 17) ride in back from time to time. Usually for no more than about 10 minutes. They're both around 5' 7", and they both love riding there. Many times at work, I've driven at lunch time and taken one adult in the back. They never complain (much). I find having the ability to put someone back there makes the car much more practical for me. I never imagined that this would be the case when I bought the car.

Well I have more of an issue as I have 3... smiling. So the two boys sit in the back (4 and 7) and love it, and my daughter who is 9 sits on mom at the front. As this is quite risky, its noth something I do often, and only for short distance...
But then again Porsche was not purchased as a family car... Porblem is I dont want to drive anything else to our Sunday lunches...
*Note to self* need to get that Cayenne in the budget soon....

My kids are 8 and 10 and they love the back seat. We just returned from and 2+ hours drive to and from the Poconos and I even asked them if the were ok back there and if the seats were ok and they said everything was great.............maybe it was the game boys.

It's the Gameboys! My boys (7 & 8) wouldn't even notice if they were riding in a wheelbarrel as long as they had their Gameboys!

4-seater report:

We took the cabriolet out for some bar and dining hopping in town last night. Two adult males and two adult females fit okay enough to get around fine! We kept the top down during entry and exit and even during the driving (nice weather). This was the first time I had a full load in the car!

Try that in a Cayman, Boxter, Miata, Z4, 350z, ...

They may not be very good seats, but they do come in handy.

I'm 6'2" and no one would be able to occupy the seat behind me, at least no one that's old enough to talk.
You guys carrying 8 & 10-year-old kids and adults(!) in the backseats must be pulling the driver's seat WAAAY UP.

My 6 and 8 year old daughters insist on riding in the back of the 993. They're petite, so I expect them to fit just fine for many years to come.

My son (10) rides in the front passenger's seat on short hops. Mom has to stay at home. If we travel as a family, that's what our newly acquired Honda Odyssey is for (a vehicle that is absolutely perfect for the task).

+1

I love my 07 C2, but for people hauling you can't beat the Honda Odyssey. My 3 love it and the DVD player. One of my 2 twin daughters (2 1/2 yrs old), during a recent ride, told me she likes mommy's car better. And she's no fool. During a recent episode of "Dora the Explorer" when I told her to look at the monkey, she responded with "that's not a monkey, it's a pygmy marmoset"

Incidentally my 5'6" wife fits in the back for short trips in reasonable comfort.

Currently he sits on the seat portion of a child seat (no back). He doesn't fit in a normal child seat. He's a big kid.
A Britax or similar with armrests & removable back works. Once child is 40" take the back off to transform into a booster. Works will in a 997. Don't get the biggest carseat available, to avoid overhang underneath. Move the front seats forward if they have a hard backing.

Perhaps it's the fun-factor with a cabriolet and excellent weather that complimented conditions, but everyone loved taking the cabriolet,--and the ladies wound up with 100-mph-hair enroute! It sure beat a taxi!

Hi,
I drive 15 year old girls around in the Porsche all the time.
They all think that it is an awesome ride. My friend with a Boxster wants to
move up. He likes the idea of putting his daughters in the back.

Admitting you have a problem is an excellent first step on the road to recovery.
