Default Dension Gateway 500 or Nav-Tv???

Earlier today I spoke with an installer that was recommended by Downtown Porsche of LA. The installer said that one customer brought them the Dension unit and that they were having trouble installing it. He went to Eric's (bumperplugs) website and looked at the unit to make sure he had tried to install this product and not the European one. He claims that this is what they tried to install and that they have a call into Dension tech support. This particular installer said that they have installed the Nav-TV unit in numerous Porsches for Pacific Porsche, Downtown LA Porsche and Beverly Hills Porsche and that the unit works great.

At this point, I am confused as to what I should do. What are the main differences between these two units? Does anyone know an installer in LA that has successfully installed the Dension unit? Thanks.

I installed the nav-tv unit in my old mini cooper s and it was really slick.

The menus and controls were integrated 100% into the navigation system.

The unit was tricky to instal, and I had to run quite a bit of wires to the trunk for the hidden antennas, and did some wire splicing, but it worked flawlessly. The contol unit was about the size of a small shoebox.

Also had a aux input for other devices. Was mono, however.

Not sure about what they have for us, but the mini unit was great.

Snoop, depending on where the unit was purchased, it may need a software update. But also, there are some great tech folks with Dension, and we've been running a number of questions by them each with a specific direct answer within 24 hours.

Where was the unit purchased?

I have been using the Nav-TV for a few months with no real issues.
