It only takes "a little bit" to get the vile flowing.

Jeeeze, it's like trying to start a fire here by rubbing two sticks - too much effort and very little smoke to show for it.

you should get your wheels painted black. the contrast to the silver car is a little more unique and the brake dust wont show up as much either.

I had a Dolphin Gray S4. You get the picture.

I dare you to ever find my car unclean...

That's a relief! I was getting the idea that silver was chosen to avoid the work of waxing!

I'm sure there are some that think like that, esp. when it's in regard to non-performance cars. I think most performance car people take great pride in maintaining the beauty of their cars... That's why I am very impressed when I see kids who are driving Hyundais, etc. and take great care of them.

I will say that I skipped a Basalt Black car because I knew it would be a complete PITA to take care of. I love to keep my car looking clean, but a black car requires almost daily attention.

I have a red A3 now as a daily driver and surprisingly it doesn't show dirt much either.

It's funny, the Arctic Silver cars that I'd seen locally the last couple of years - a 996 and Boxster - looked all flat and dull compared to my Seal Boxster. But now that I have a AS 997; the reason they looked that way was these people simply never bothered to keep them clean. Your car can look like S__t no matter the color.

Arctic Silver is on 25% of 996 cars. I bought mine used and bought it because it was the best car we found after looking at 25+ cars. My black 993 I washed about every 3 days or so. Not a big deal as these cars are small and I have 3 drains in my garage and wash my rigs inside. But, I found myself polishing the black car every 2 or 3 weeks too try to keep the visibility of the scratches down. I wash silver car every week and wax it every 6 weeks or so. It always looks good but never great. Actually, I have been piling on the miles on the 996 because it is so easy to wash and I can drive the wheels off of it and it never looks bad, either.
We just ordered a new Benz sedan in a color similar to Seal Grey so maybe I'm in for more polish and wax detail.
My next Porsche will be Seal Grey , Atlas Grey or GT Silver. Good compromises knowing I will wash every week anyway.

correct. yes the % of p-cars that make up total sales is above 35% if my source was correct. there is a reason for that.
