Default Thoughts on trading just for CPO?

Thinking of trading my 9/2004 purchased 997s for a 2006 CPO car, primarily for the extended coverage - I've had few problems, but only about 8,000 miles - I've been thinking of purchasing extended coverage since I would otherwise keep the car for a long time, but think I could make a trade for about 10k, and that CPO type coverage would cost at least half that, and not be from Porsche, and the rest can be rathoinalized by going up a year - anyone see a flaw in this logic?

yes, I see a minor flaw. The CPO coverage is not the same as the original factory warranty. It really only covers major items.

You can trade an 05 + $10k for an 06 CPO? The car must be quite a bit less equipped than yours for that to make sense on the dealer's end.

thanks mrpc - good point , did not realize that.

Actually, the number presently on the table is 12k, but less mileage and a number of additional options (nav, short shift, pse) - I see your point , maybe its because it is January ...thanks

Yeah, but it's January for your trade-in as well. It works both ways.
